01

Find the friction first

Before choosing an app, follow one customer request from arrival to resolution. Where does the agent stop, search, copy information or ask a colleague? Write that moment down in plain language: “I need to see the delivery status while speaking to the customer.”

That sentence becomes a useful starting brief. It gives everyone something concrete to discuss and helps define a focused first version. Ask agents to help shape it; they can explain the awkward exceptions that a demonstration misses.

02

Put the right information in reach

Genesys Cloud supports embedded third-party applications and data actions for integrations. Amazon Connect also supports third-party applications in its agent workspace. The right approach depends on the workflow, the information involved and how the agent needs to act.

Make the next action obvious. Labels, loading states, keyboard access and helpful error messages deserve the same attention as the connection itself.

  • What should appear when a contact arrives?
  • What must the agent verify before taking action?
  • What happens when information is missing or a system is unavailable?
03

Prove the value in everyday work

Start with a focused pilot and representative tasks. Observe whether agents can complete them comfortably, then collect feedback on the moments that still feel uncertain.

Agree how you will judge the result before expanding: fewer repeated steps, clearer context or more reliable handovers. Assign someone to maintain the integration and respond to issues. A useful app should remain useful after launch.

THE TAKEAWAY

The best starting point is a real task, a clear user need and a small enough scope to learn from.
