01

Start with the role

A useful training brief describes what someone needs to accomplish. An agent may need to transfer a contact while preserving context. A supervisor may need to understand a queue situation. An administrator may need to assess a routing change.

Create separate learning paths where responsibilities differ. Agree the starting knowledge, the tasks to practise and what participants should be able to explain or demonstrate afterwards.

02

Practise the work your team does

Use realistic, fictional customer scenarios and the configuration the team will encounter. Include an everyday task, an exception and a situation where someone must ask for help.

The Amazon Connect agent guide covers the standard workspace and contact controls, while noting that organisations may use a customised version. Product documentation is a foundation to adapt to your own environment.

  • Ask participants to explain their choices.
  • Discuss where they would look for missing information.
  • Practise what they would tell a customer while resolving a problem.
03

Make learning available afterwards

Provide short reference notes, clear escalation contacts and a place to record questions. Ask learners to repeat a representative task after they have had time to apply the material.

AWS operational guidance recommends allowing time for adjustment and rehearsing support processes before launch. Use follow-up questions to improve the next session and make help easier to find in everyday work.

THE TAKEAWAY

Confidence grows through realistic practice, useful feedback and a clear way to find help afterwards.
